In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna gives an analogy of how our bodies are like a set of clothing. We give shape to them because we’re inside them. And at some point, they wear out. I don’t know if you’ve noticed that, but after you wear your clothes for a while, they don’t have that new feeling anymore. You may get tired of wearing them and they may not be appropriate anymore. Then you have to get new clothes.
In the same way, Krishna says we get various bodies that are just like clothes. When the body gets worn out, and we get disgusted with it, or when the warranty runs out, the timespan that we’re allowed to stay in the body wears out, then we have to get a new set. The process of getting a new set is one of the most avoided topics in human society. It is summarily called death.
